The Limburg Coal Well - a musical tale of life in the mine

"De Limburgse koolputter - a musical tale of life in the mine" presents the fictional but true-life story of Stefano, a former miner from Limburg. Stefano takes the listener on a retrospective of his life in the mine, where he often experienced beautiful but sometimes hard moments. In it, he takes a look at his first days in the mine, gives a detailed look at the different tasks that were performed in the mine, describes the role of his great love, but also the looming dangers he faced on a daily basis.

The performance is framed by live music brought by the North Limburg Brass Band (www.nlbb.be), an orchestral form with brass instruments, which originated in the mining culture of the UK. The music was also carefully chosen, so the symbolic link with the mining past is never far away.

During this performance, immerse yourself in all aspects of this important piece of Limburg heritage and learn more about the history of life in the mine.

This is a creative project by Toon Debaye, euphonium, (organiser, writer, musician)
