Saxophone ensemble conducted by Pieter Pellens & Eva van Grinsven

Pieter Pellens, principal study teacher in saxophone, invited Eva van Grinsven for a master class for our saxophone students.

Eva van Grinsven

Eva van Grinsven is an acclaimed Dutch saxophonist, best known for her versatile sound colours and engaging stage presence. She plays baritone saxophone and is a popular chamber musician, but also performs solo in addition to regularly collaborating with ensembles, including the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

She graduated cum laude from the Conservatoire of Amsterdam in 2008, under the guidance of Arno Bornkamp, who is also visiting this year for a masterclass.

Eva van Grinsven is part of the duo Sax & Stix, with which she won the prestigious Vriendenkrans prize, among others. 

Van Grinsven is a classical saxophone teacher at the Maastricht Conservatoire and co-founder of the Amsterdam Saxophone Orchestra. She has performed on many international stages and plays an active role in promoting both classical and modern saxophone music.
