Under the direction of teacher Barbara Wiernik, the jazz vocal studies students present an evening in which world music and jazz come together in an original way. The focus is on a series of new arrangements, developed by the students themselves and carefully honed throughout the year.
The programme is in two parts. In the first part, the singers, together with instrumentalists from the jazz section, will perform solos and duets. In the second part, the vocal ensemble will perform a selection of works in which diverse musical traditions are interwoven in a nuanced way.
An evening that underlines the imagination and craftsmanship of a new generation of jazz musicians.
