- Lecture title: The (im)possibility of sexual freedom
Since the sexual revolution, we in the West imagine ourselves liberated. Sex is everywhere: on porn sites, in talk shows, podcasts, quality newspapers. Sex is also: a huge industry. But, how successful is this sexual revolution really? If #MeToo teaches us anything, it's that what's called freedom for one person often crosses another's boundaries. So it is time to rethink our sexual mores. But how do we do that, without falling into the dreaded "new prudery"? A lecture on the history of consent and the search for a sexual ethic that does not make all desire disappear.
