Every year, PlayRight+ awards a €500 prize to a number of final-year students who have distinguished themselves particularly during their education as artists. Last Friday, it was the students from the Jazz, Music Classical, Drama and Dance programmes of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp's Royal Conservatoire's Music Department's turn to receive their prize.
Congratulations to Libby, Brecht, Robbe and Johanna!
DANCE: Elizabeth (Libby) Ward
Elizabeth Ward achieved the highest distinction in the integrated Educational Master in Dance in September 2023. Her talent is not only recognised, but immediately employed as a teaching artist within the dance programmes.
CLASSICAL MUSIC: Brecht Valkenaers
In the Classical Music programme, the prize goes to Brecht Valkenaers, an extraordinary pianist with a broad profile thanks to his compositional background. His final master's exam and his creative final project were masterful. Brecht graduated with the highest distinction.
JAZZ: Robbe Broeckx
Robbe Broeckx is without a doubt a very talented jazz drummer who feels like a fish in the water in various styles. His graduation in 2023 with great distinction confirms his exceptional talent and dedication.
DRAMA: Johanna Loman
Johanna Loman, master in Media, writing and performance art, has demonstrated her passion, skill and understanding of all facets of the performing arts from day one of her programme. Her master's project "Brainstorm" marks an impressive interlude in this courageous storyteller's journey. To crown it all, she graduated with great distinction.
We are incredibly proud of these remarkable artists and look forward to their further contributions to the world of dance, classical music, jazz and drama.
The PlayRight+ Prizes remain an important platform for honouring talent and fostering creativity within the artistic community.
