Berit Schneidereit lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany. She studied at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the class of sculptor Hubert Kiecol, later with Andreas Gursky, graduating as a master student in 2017.
The impulse for her work evolves from a conceptual interest in the medium and its relation to space. Looking back on a long tradition of light-based image making, her aim is to reflect and filter the core of the medium. For her work, she uses equally techniques of digital and analog process, developing hybrid forms of photographic imprint.
Recent institutional exhibitions: "tourist" (solo show) at NAK Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, Aachen, 2020; “Subjekt und Objekt. Foto Rhein Ruhr", Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, 2020; "Next Generations - Contemporary photography made in the Rhineland", Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen and "The Gulf Between" at the Cultural Center de Warande, Turnhout, both in 2019.
