Chiara Percivati

Chiara Percivati, clarinetist and performer, is an interpreter dedicated to the music of our time. Her work as an artist and artistic researcher focuses on exploring, questioning, and expanding the symbiotic relationship between performer and instrument. She holds master’s degrees from the Conservatory of Milano and the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She researches into the field of clarinet preparation and augmentation as a PhD candidate at the Orpheus Institute and University of Antwerp, and as a researcher at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp. 

She performs at international festivals such as Warsaw Autumn, Wiener Festwochen Festival, Holland Festival, Ruhrtriennale, Ars Musica, Romaeuropa Festival, Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Teatro alla Scala, and Gaudeamus Muziekweek, among others, working with conductors such as Peter Rundel, George Benjamin, Daniele Gatti, Brad Lubman, Pierre-André Valade and Susanna Mälkki. She has lectured and workshopped at Harvard University, University of California - San Diego, Stanford University, University of Huddersfield, Orpheus Institute of Ghent, and University of Antwerp. 

Among her main collaborations, the Ensemble Modern, the EMO (Ensemble Modern Orchestra), Schallfeld Ensemble, mdi ensemble, Ensemble for New Music Tallinn, and the Orchestra and Ensemble XX secolo of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala.
