Maud Vanhauwaert writes and creates. She holds a Master’s degree in Language and Literature from the University of Antwerp and a Master’s degree in Media, Writing & Performance Art from the Antwerp Conservatoire. She has written several collections of poetry and a novel, for which she has received various literary awards. In 2018–2019 she was Antwerp’s city poet and in 2024 she was writer-in-residence at KU Leuven. In her work, she explores the worlds of the stage, the page and public space. Twice a week she writes a short column for the newspaper *De Morgen*, and she is the ‘artistic director’ of the Paddegragt, a theatre cellar in the heart of Antwerp.
