EXITfestival

Every year, at the beginning of June, the master students bring their master's theses and related artistic projects in a festival form in the Arenberg under the name EXITfestival. A diverse programme with their own work, music, theater and mixed forms of different disciplines.

Café Chantant

In addition to the annual public vocal exams, the bachelor's students bring a number of 'Café Chantant' evenings spread out over the year, with their own repertoire or an existing repertoire, on which was worked during the vocal lessons. In recent years, the Café Chantants have grown from a small-scale show to a musical performance that attracts an ever-growing and diverse audience.

Creators block

Each academic year starts with a 'Makersblok' (creators block) in which students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of 'Music, creation and performance art' make a presentation of about 30 minutes around a theme at a location in the city. These performances will be shown on the last day to teachers, fellow students and any public who are present or working at the relevant location at that time. These performances are conceived without guidance from teachers. During this time the new students are introduced to the 2nd and 3rd years in a creative process.

Themes that have already been discussed include Nature (collaboration with the zoo), Healthcare in the Third World (collaboration with the Institute of Tropical Medicine), Poverty in the welfare state (collaboration with the OCMW), Assisenzaken (collaboration with Antwerp Palace of Justice), Theater of the Visual Arts (collaborating with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp), Red Starline vs asylum seekers (collaborating with the Red Cross), World of Experience of the Blind (collaborating with the Markgrave).

Performances

Three times a year, the students put in a performances on which they have worked for the previous weeks. Check out the calendar for more information.
