Musical interpretation from the pragmaticism of Peirce

In order to interpret musical meaning, one first checks, according to the pragmatic insights of C.S. Peirce, how the semiotic process in itself functions. Next, the specific musical process of meaning formation based on these insights is explained by the following four necessary actors: the sounding musical sign, the noted musical sign, the perceived musical sign, and the role of the performer.
