The uncomfortable environment

The uncomfortable environment deals with both research about and in the arts and more specifically within sculpture (sculptures and installations). Connections are made with interior architecture, psychology and sociology. This research leads to a more extensive theoretical knowledge of sculpture in general and the surroundings of the sculpture, its registration and presentation. A social and psychological investigation concerning 'the uncomfortable environment' must ensure substantive substantiation and expansion.

This research explicitly chooses the space with the lowest (artistic) status: the decrepit living quarters of people who try to survive in our society. The psychological and material analysis of these domestic 'skins' are at the forefront of this research.
