Wim Henderickx honoured as Maestro Honoris Causa
On 9 November 2023, vzw Bolster's annual benefit concert took place, posthumously paying tribute to the unforgettable composer, and teacher Wim Henderickx.
Masterclass with Florian Wiek
On November 20 and 21, we had the pleasure of welcoming Florian Wiek for a Chamber Music Masterclass. Before it took place, Wiek took the time to join forces with the internationally acclaimed cellist Justus Grimm, who is also a teacher, to deliver a beautiful aperitif concert on November 19.

Important visit for the jazz department! Jazz drummer Mark Guilliana interrupted his touring schedule for a masterclass with extensive Q&A for the students. The room was packed to capacity and yes, everyone had questions. Key takeaways for us is that chaos can be interesting, while boundaries lead to greater creativity.
Bernardo Beirão wins Sabam prize for composition
Beirão graduated from the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp in June 2023 with the highest score for composition. This earned him the Sabam Prize for composition.
International improvisation contest René Arons 2023
On February 24 and 25, the third edition of the "René Arons International Improvisation Contest" will be held. This contest is organized in memory of René Arons, pianist, improviser and beloved teacher.
