Peteris Vasks guest of honour at the Antwerp Conservatoire
We are pleased to welcome the world-renowned composer Peteris Vasks to the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp between 9 and 12 February 2022. He will provide students with insight into his work and be our guest of honour during a concert of our String Orchestra.
Masterclasses Jazz with Billy Hart quartet
Not one, but four masterclasses will be given to our Jazz students on 15 October 2021. The four members of the Billy Hart Quartet will each take some of the students under their wings for an intensive coaching session on piano, drums, bass or saxophone.
Pete Agora’s Trio feat. Joe Lovano – 16 August at Jazz Middelheim
Yes! Once again, the organisers of the Antwerp Jazz Festival Jazz Middelheim and the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp are tightening their bonds. Three students get three days to get ready for a dazzling performance together with the equally dazzling Joe Lovano. He is the coach on duty and takes Lars Van de Voorde (piano), Jef Manderveld (double bass) and Jesse Dockx (drums) under his wing to prepare for an amazing concert on the main stage.
Don Giovanni available online
A few weeks ago, we finally got to share the performance of Don Giovanni with the rest of the world. The productions of the two casts premiered simultaneously and more than 600 spectators attended (online).
Public examinations Classical Music
Before we let a new generation of talented musicians and singers start their master's programme or release them into the artistic world, there is still that one big moment: the public examination. Whereas we normally fill venues and halls, everything will be live streamed.

Introduction to the music programme
As a candidate for the Music programme, you can meet the teachers and the Campus in light of your participation at the entrance exams. By taking part in the Easter or summer courses or by applying for an introductory lesson.

Check the full performance 'Ogen open mond dicht' here. With this performance the vocal department of the Antwerp Conservatoire makes a striking contemporary comment on Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben.
Project – XXI
From the academic year 2020 – 2021 onwards, the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp will offer a profound program in contemporary music. Under the name ‘Project-XXI’ a limited number of students will have the opportunity to work a whole academic year with specialized coaches within the field of new music.
The close relation with the different research groups from the Conservatoire will create new possibilities for students to collaborate in projects with both researchers and external partners.
