'Musicianship in Development' highlights how eighteenth-century musicians combined performance practice with creative skills such as improvisation, variation and recomposition of older models. This hybrid conference aims to facilitate reflection upon contemporary musicianship by creating a space where musicological research interacts with musicians and pedagogues of today. Over two days, video and live presentations, workshops and lessons will be given by leading experts on various practical topics, including counterpoint, partimento, keyboard textures, varied reprises and variation techniques in cadences, scales and sequences.
