Lukas Verdijk (1984, NL) obtained his Bachelor's degree in History and State Design in 2010 at the HAN, Nijmegen. During his education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp (2015) he started his collaboration with Vesna Faassen. This collaboration began with a shared interest in the relationship between photography and culture and heritage. As a duo, Vesna and Lukas were associated with the Higher Institute for Fine Art in Ghent (2017). At the HISK they continued to work on the explorations of contemporary socially engaged art in relation to (post) colonial, cultural and photographic theories. From 2017 to the present Lukas is connected as a Guest Professor at the Antwerp Academy where he teaches in the department of photography.
