Freija De Mol was born on 27 February 1989. After completing her secondary studies, she started her history studies at the University of Antwerp. Her training double bass at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp she started in 2010. In 2012 she obtained her Master in History and this was followed four years later by a Master in Music with distinction, with training by Lode Leire. She has followed masterclasses with Rick Stotijn, Jeff Bradetich, Herbert Mayr, Jerzy Dybal, Peter Manning and Riccardo Minasi. In 2017 she also obtained her specific teaching diploma at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp.
She has played as a freelance double bassist with the HERMESensemble, the SPECTRA Ensemble, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Opera Flanders, Summer Opera, De Munt, Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra ... She is also the double bass teacher at the Municipal Academy for Music and Word Brasschaat and the Music and Word Academie Wijnegem-Schilde-Zoersel.
