Ricardo Ambrósio

Ricardo Ambrozio is a Brazilian dancer and choreographer. His first contact with rhythm and movement was at the age of six. At the age of 16 he worked with Flavia Tapias, a Brazilian dancer, teacher and choreographer.

Ricardo studied sciences at the University of Rio where he eventually specialized in dance. He became resident researcher at CDPD - RJ (Center for Documentation and Research Center for Dance at the University of Rio de Janeiro), worked as a producer for a number of dance festivals and worked for two years at the 'Faculdade Angel Vianna'. At the age of twenty he left Brazil for Lisbon, Portugal, where he studied at the 'Escola Superior de Dança'. He dances with a number of companies such as Companhia de Dança de Almada and Company Istável. In this time he also starts his own work as a choreographer and teacher. He develops this by mixing all the influences he has experienced in dance. After working with Helder Seabra at company Istável (Porto, Portugal), he first moved to Amsterdam and then to Brussels to work with Bruno Caverna, Gerard Mosterd, Dogwolf (Chris de Feyter), Willy Dorner and [[Wim Vandekeybus / Ultima Vez Ultima Vez (Wim Vandekeybus)]. At the moment he works permanently at Ultima Vez. Ricardo Ambrozio starts his own cultural projects in Brussels (choreography, video, text and photography) collected under a name, a roof and a brand: Untamed.
