The solo presentation 'like, now' thinks of the Temple as a testing field. The space with its different particles of time offers a field for experimentation, speculation and transformation. The newly produced work 'placement I, 2022' engages in this transformative situation. Several larger than human-scale exposures are propped-up for presentation on moveable racks, showing different moments of one time frame in space, recreating one place in another, overlayering time spans.
The presentation marks the first step in Berit Schneidereit´s research project ‘continuous space / flying minds’ at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, which explores the fragment as one of the defining characteristics of photography and a form of visual language in itself.
During Antwerp Art Weekend, the first phase of the research will be shown in the Temple of the Academy.
