SHOW 2023 zit er op!

Dit weekend zakten meer dan 5000 modeliefhebbers af naar de Waagnatie om de collecties van onze modestudenten te bewonderen. De inzet, artisticiteit en creativiteit in het werk van de studenten alsook de scenografie, choreografie en muziek van de modeshow bliezen het dak er af!

SHOW 2023 — it's a wrap!

This weekend, more than 5,000 fashion lovers swarmed down to the Waagnatie to admire the collections of our fashion students. The commitment, artistry and creativity in the students' work as well as the fashion show's scenography, choreography and music blew the roof off!

Thanks to all visitors and to everyone who made it a top show. On to the next edition!

AWARDS 2023

• Artos Award → FLORAN POLANO
The non-profit organization Artos gives an incentive award worth €1000 to a 2BA student

• Botter Award → YUE KONG
Botter grants an award to the collection they esteem as having implemented the most environmentally conscious development. A creative mind facing the challenges of change as perfect duo, stepping into the New World! 

• Christine Mathys Award → AMAR SINGH
In honour of Christine’s passion for fashion, a prize of €2500 will be awarded to the collection that most radiates this passion. Christine Mathys was co-founder of NV Dries Van Noten.

• Catwalkpictures Award → ALL MASTER STUDENTS
Etienne Tordoir provides all Master students with a series of catwalk collection images in HR quality. If launching a first collection in Paris, Catwalkpictures also guarantees free professional catwalk images.

• EE Exclusives Award → MARGOT VERSTUYFT  
A 3BA student will have the opportunity to develop a jacquard fabric for his/her Master collection.

• Essentiel Award → PAULA VAN DYCK
Essentiel Antwerp chooses a 2BA student to work with the Essentiel creative team in their 3BA in order to develop a mini capsule collection to be sold in the Essentiel shop in 2024.

• Fashion Department Award → LAURA MEIER HAGESTED
In award of €1000 donated by the Department.

• Fashion Fever Award → FREDERIK LIEDERLEY
Fashion Fever grants a year membership to our fashion community with entrepreneurs, fashion professionals and suppliers in the industry. The award consist of 4 events on a current theme in fashion, 2 expert lunches where they can ask for advice and additional coaching. 

• Flanders DC/UA Award → AARON HÜTTENMEISTER
Awarded to the Master student who manages to translate his/her creative vision into a mature collection. The award is a participation in the Fashion management course at the AMS Summerschool.

• Flanders Fashion Makers Award → POMMIE DIERICK
This award is given to a student whose work stands out because of the coupes they use. Flanders Fashion Makers makes its expertise available in realising 3 prototypes with skilled people from their studio.

• IFF Award → ALEXANDRE WARUNEK
World leader in creating perfumes - celebrates 20 years of collaboration with the Antwerp Fashion Department. The 2023 award goes to 3BA student ALEXANDRE WARUNEK for his project ‘Paragon’. It includes a trip to IFF Paris and Grasse and the creation of an exclusive fragrance to represent his innovative concept.

• Labels & Things Award → GABRIELLE SZWARCENBERG
Labels & Things gives a substantial contribution to a 3BA student to boost his/her Master collection with trims and headwear. The award goes to the collection with a distinct attention to detail and accessory.

• LOUIS Award → POMMIE DIERICK
Louis grants €1000 to the most outstanding 3BA student. The winner is also invited to exhibit the collection in the LOUIS shop window in Antwerp next year.

• Maison Anna Heylen Award → SOFIA RODRIGUEZ
€1000 awarded to the student with a love of craftsmanship and thoughtful cuts.

• Momu Award → LAURA MEIER HAGESTED
This award is given to a Master student who stands out in his/her work by using a unique visual language. The collection will be featured with a photo shoot and interview on the museum’s website.

• Movex Award → GABRIELLE SZWARCENBERG
For a student who uses leather in his/her collection in an innovative and creative way. The price consists of a trip to Ubrique, with a visit to the Movex Foundation and companies in the leather industry and the opportunity to produce a mini leather collection for free. The winner receives free materials and workshops in the luxury leather industry with access to all Movex leather professionals, technology and materials

• Naaimachine-Kliniek Deurne/Barbaix Award → for the department
The company Naaimachine Kliniek / Bart Marstboom gives an industrial overlock machine Texi Quattro 24N PREMIUM EX, worth €1350, to the fashion department studios to support the students with the execution of the collections.

• Rosier41 Award → POMMIE DIERICK
Viviane Van Werelyckhuysen and her team will give a prize of €500 to the student with the most ‘FUNKY’ collection.

• Sofam Award → YUHEI UEDA
Sofam grants €1500 to a promising 3BA student.

• The Fabric Sales Award → ANNAELLE REUDINCK, MARGOT VERSTUYFT, AMAR SINGH
Award for promising 2BA and 3BA students. The 3 winners may choose a high-end fabric for his/her Master collection for a value of €2000 each.

• Weekend Knack Award → MARCEL SOMMER
Granted by Knack WE’s fashion team led by Ellen de Wolf. The award goes to the most promising master student, who will receive a fashion report with interview in the magazine Weekend Knack Special edition ‘Fashion this is Belgian’ September 2023.

• Yvonne Dekock Award → CEZARY ZALIT
An award for Fashion Drawing, presented by Yvonne Dekock, for the most artistic and personal Fashion illustrations.

• Ushatava Award → HUGO BROCHEN
An award of €1500 is given to the boldest collection by creative directors Nino Shamatava and Sanan Gasanov.
